Ask can interpret.
The selection carries the exact wording, visual state, or language already visible on screen. The source stays open while the answer arrives.
Research
Select a claim, citation, table, or figure. Ask can define a term, explain an argument, or identify what a paragraph is asserting.

Select an error, stack trace, component state, or API snippet. Ask can turn it into a likely cause and a set of concrete next checks. Especially useful when a command is shown in a screenshot or terminal image and you cannot copy it directly.

One capture.
One question.
Ask is not an always-on workspace. A request begins only after an explicit trigger and uses the active-screen capture, your selection boundary, and your question.
Explicit activation
No background capture: the shortcut or tray action creates a temporary capture surface for the active monitor.
Visible boundary
Your selection identifies the region that needs attention; the surrounding layout supplies only the context needed to interpret it.
No default thread
The first build has no permanent answer feed. Copy or close the response and return to the exact source you were reading.

For an active request Ask sends the capture, your typed question, and the selection boundary needed to focus the model. It does not keep a default answer history.
